Waterproofing and Thermal Insulation

ALYAF geotextile placed on top of the thermal insulation protects it from puncture damage by the subsequent gravel/tiles layer, prevents the migration of fines into the thermal joints and allows moisture/gasses entrapped underneath to vent out.

ALYAF A201 placed as slip-sheet between the waterproofing membranes and the thermal insulation protects both materials from being damaged by the friction effect caused due to their differential coefficient of expansion and contraction and material incompatibility.

ALYAF Geotextile for Substructure:

Project: King Fahd Library - Jeddah

Substructures, i.e., foundations (including basement walls) are typically protected from the ground-water by waterproofing membranes. These membranes are themselves prone to damage due to site abuse, abrasive screeds, reinforcement bars and angular backfill material, etc. ALYAF nonwoven protection fabrics are robust and durable materials engineered for protection of different waterproofing membrane.
